The Power of Inspiration

April 15, 2008 at 9:08 am (Appreciation, Kindness, Law of Attraction, habits of effective people) (, , , , , , , )

The WALK THE TALK Company has a new version of their popular 212 Degrees movie out today. I have it linked in my right-hand column and you can also review from here … the NEW 212 Degree Movie. If you liked the original 212 movie, I think you’ll like this one, too. Like the other inspirational movies I have linked, this one is short but carries a powerful message. It’s all about how one degree more can make all the difference. Water is hot at 211 degrees. It boils at 212 degrees. Boiling water creates steam and with steam one can create power. One degree makes a lot of difference. Watch the movie - you’ll understand.

I DO NOT have any connections with the Walk the Talk company but I really like what they do, promote and offer. I can say that after reviewing their website, I agree with their business philosophies. They state that they can help you turn shared values like Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Customer Service, Trust, and Commitment into workplace realities. I’m all for that. We could use more of all of this in our world today.

I love these inspirational movies - maybe you do, too. If so, pass the link along. Review the Walk the Talk website - maybe there is something there you can use or maybe you’ll decide to contact them. If so, let ‘em know we sent you.

Thanks - R@

Walk the Talk

March 12, 2008 at 11:43 pm (212 Degrees, AL, Ashland, Cooperation, Definiteness of Purpose, Encourage positive actions, Giving, How to win friends and influence people, Inspiration, Kindness, Law of Attraction, Lineville, Making a difference, Master of your fate, Pay it forward, Positive mental attitude, Positive people, Power of Attitude, Smile, Walk the Talk, Walk the Talk movie, affirmative direction, attitude, conscious mind, habits of effective people, subconscious mind)

Well, I’m back. We’re settled into our new home in Millerville, AL and we’re loving the peace and quiet of the east central Alabama countryside. The closiest Wally World is 25 miles away. The Talladega National Forest is less than 5 miles away. The only fast food joints in town (Ashland and/or Lineville, AL) are a Jack’s in Lineville and a MickeyD’s in Ashland. We got a Subway last May and it was a BIG DEAL in town.

I haven’t seen this many stars in ages. I usually only see this many stars when my buddies and I go backpacking in the mountains. But here, in my back or front yard, I see gazillions of stars every night. Absolutely awesome. And I think of all the people who grow up and live in cities their entire lives and because of the light pollution, never really ever see the night sky and its incredible beauty. What a shame.

I’ll talk more on our new home and the area as we progress along and I get caught up blogging but I wanted to do some more customer evangelism for the Walk the Talk guys and a new short movie they have I think you should review. The movie is actually called Walk the Talk and it is another truly inspirational movie from this top-notch group. They just keep ‘em coming.  Take a few minutes and watch the movie - I know you will enjoy it.

Until next time - Richard

Team Work & The Law of Attraction

August 28, 2007 at 11:06 pm (Cooperation, Definiteness of Purpose, Encourage positive actions, Finish the drill, Future leaders, Home Schooling, How to win friends and influence people, Human relations, Inspiration, Law of Attraction, Leadership, Life Force, Positive mental attitude, Positive people, Team Work, Teams, The Team Work Movie, affirmative direction, conscious mind, habits of effective people)

If you read this blog on a regular basis (yes, I have been slack lately but I have my reasons - just moved and building a new home and changed jobs all at the same time ;-) you know I love these short inspirational movies.

Well, the folks over at Walk the Talk have created another great one. This time about Team Work. It is a short inspirational movie - about 3 minutes - inspired by the Navy Blue Angels. If any group of people know about Team Work, it is the Blue Angels. Take a few moments to review the movie.

You may be asking what does Team Work have to do with the Law of Attraction? In my humble opinion … everything. A believe a great team comes together through LOA. We are all magnets  - using our forces (positive and negative) - to bring things and people to us. This movie spells it out. Just watch it. And enjoy!

Thanks and have a safe and great Labor Day holiday.

The Power of Attitude

July 24, 2007 at 10:48 am (Definiteness of Purpose, Employee Recognition, Encourage positive actions, Inspiration, Leadership, Master of your fate, Meaningful Life, Positive mental attitude, Positive people, Power of Attitude, Showing My Appreciation, Teaching Children, affirmative direction, attitude, habits of effective people, subconscious mind)

The Attitude Movie

Well, I’m back. I apologize for the absence from writing lately. Been a lot going on in our world. Sharon and I have moved from Atlanta to the country in east central Alabama due to work reasons and to also get out of the rat race of Atlanta, the only town I’ve ever lived in. But more on that subject later.

Just wanted to post something that I believe has a lot to do with the Law of Attraction.

The difference in success or failure is not how you look, not how you dress, not even how you’re educated. It’s how you think! In many ways we’re all alike; however, one little difference always makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. In this 3-minute inspirational movie, from The Power of Attitude, you’ll find some of the keys to staying positive in today’s world. So sit back, turn up your speakers, and click on the link below.

If you like it, don’t forget to share it with friends, family and co-workers.

Have a great day!

Law of Attraction Works Both Ways

March 19, 2007 at 10:35 pm (Definiteness of Purpose, Home Schooling, How to win friends and influence people, Law of Attraction, Law of Attraction Works Both Ways, Mind Matters, Negative people, Positive mental attitude, Positive people, Think and Grow Rich, What goes around, Youth, affirmative direction, comes around, conscious mind, habits of effective people, subconscious mind, understanding of the mind)

Something dawned on me this past weekend and I feel I must address it. It may seem obvious to some, but I don’t think it is obvious to all.

The Law of Attraction works with a negative force as well as a positive force. By negative, I don’t mean like opposite. I mean like a magnet, as the LOA is sometimes referred to. Just as positive people and actions pull similar people and actions to them, negative people and actions pull like to them. I think this is very important to understand. If you are always negative, always looking at the bad things in life and in people, always putting the blame on others for things that happen to you, having a victim mentality, etc. - you will always have these bad things coming your way and will NEVER experience the positive powers of the LOA. So … to advance forward and start taking advantage of the awesome power of the LOA, you MUST eliminate - or start to eliminate - these negative issues in your life. One step at a time. You can do it.

Something else that I have observed for many, many years and I knew it was important but only recently realized how this little thing/issue affects living a powerful LOA life. Simply … it is being organized, clean, and neat. I don’t mean to the point of a neat-nik or someone who becomes obsessive about neatness. No, I mean generally neat, organized and clean. Clean is one of the twelve (12) points of the Scout Law.  If it is important enough for the Boy Scouts to teach young men, it is important enough for all of us - IMHO.

I don’t believe (I could be wrong) that there are many ultra-successful people in this world that live in messy homes and keep messy offices and ride around in messy cars. Maybe you are a messy person and you are successful in your mind .. I guess this doesn’t apply to you. But we all know someone like I describe. Personally, I don’t get it. Their car is always a mess - room for one person … maybe. You have to throw stuff out of the way if three people want to go to lunch together. Their office desk looks like the local junkyard … maybe worse. Couldn’t find an important paper if their life depended on it. You get the image.

It is my opinion that these people will never be able to tap the power of the LOA even if they want to. Even if they are generally a positive person and generally a good person. Being sloppy, disorganized, messy and generally keeping their close environs in disarray says a lot about them and the force they send out.

So … if you’re one of these folks … clean up your act. These simple changes can help make the power of the LOA work for you better. Believe me, I have seen it work for others. It works … it just does.

Have a great week!

The Secret - Not So Secret

March 5, 2007 at 5:45 pm (Appreciation, Cooperation, Dale Carnegie, Definiteness of Purpose, Encourage positive actions, From the Heart, Good Deeds, Good Place, How to win friends and influence people, Inspiration, Kindness, Law of Attraction, Life, Look for the good, Making a difference, Master Mind Group, Mastermind, Meaningful Life, Napoleon Hill, Positive mental attitude, Random Acts of Kindness, Rhonda Byrne, Send Out Cards, Teaching Children, The Secret, Think and Grow Rich, comes around, conscious mind, habits of effective people, subconscious mind)

“The Secret”, by Rhonda Byrne is HOT right now. It’s been featured recently on Oprah and other national shows and I hear the book is in another printing - the book is flying off the shelves all across the world. And this is good. Good for the Law of Attraction and good for followers of the principals of the Law of Attraction.

I haven’t read the book or seen the DVD but I get a lot of people asking me if I have. I probably won’t read it. I’ve known the “secret” for a very long time. But I do follow the hoopla surrounding the “Secret” and I find it amazing. It really is more about very good marketing … and being in marketing myself, I also observe with a marketing eye.

Supposedly, Rhonda states on the DVD that she was inspired to create The Secret after reading the 1910 classic The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. I haven’t read this book either but it is now on my list to read soon. However, I suspect I will discover much of what I have already learned by studying The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill and the smaller version Think and Grow Rich. Both are with me at most times of my life for reference purposes and I read them regularly.

There really is no secret. It is all about “thinking.” Too many folks just don’t bother to think these days. Back in the early 1900s, the business greats like Carnegie, Edison, Ford, Firestone, Bell, and others that Hill researched and wrote about in his books, they took time to think. They surrounded themselves with smart people. They built Master Mind groups. They practiced what they preached. And they put the power of the Law of Attraction to work for them.

If The Secret helps some folks figure it out, all the better. But there really is no “secret.” It’s all been out there for any of us to use forever. Just start thinking.

Have a great day and send more cards.

Making Money and Meaning

February 15, 2007 at 1:15 am (Appreciation, Building Customer Relationships, Cooperation, Customer Loyalty, Dale Carnegie, Definiteness of Purpose, Encourage positive actions, From the Heart, Good Deeds, How to win friends and influence people, Inspiration, Involvement & Customer Loyalty, Kindness, Law of Attraction, Life Force, Making Money, Meaning, Meaningful Life, Mind Matters, Positive mental attitude, Showing My Appreciation, Teaching Children, Unexpected acts of kindness, What goes around, Word of Mouth Marketing, genuinely interested, habits of effective people)

In the right-hand navigational bar I have a link to The Money & Meaning Movie. I encourage you to watch it. I have no affiliation with the person who produced the movie … just someone I follow and subscribe to their email newsletter. I do think the movie sends a powerful message in a very simple way. I agree with the message.

You can build a business, make money, and have meaning.

It’s all about relationships. And relationships, business or personal, have a lot of do with the Law of Attraction. I don’t care if you’re selling burgers at Wendy’s or running a dry cleaner business or dealing with C-level people all day - in the end, it is about relationships. It’s too bad that the majority of people and businesses don’t get this simple message.

Treat customers as friends (what a novel idea). Listen. Give more than expected. And as Dale Carnegie would say, “Be geniunely interested in other people.” It really does work.

You can make money and meaning.

Are you sending enough greeting cards? It’s easy with SOC.

Take care - R@

Oprah: The African Queen

February 8, 2007 at 11:39 pm (Africa, Definiteness of Purpose, From the Heart, Future leaders, Giving, Good Deeds, Henly-on-Klip, Jesus, Johannesburg, Kindness, Law of Attraction, Leadership, Leadership Academy for Girls, Look for the good, Making a difference, Oprah, Oprah Winfrey, Positive mental attitude, Random Acts of Kindness, Teaching Children, What goes around, Women Professionals, brighten lives, habits of effective people)

In case you have missed this story, Oprah Winfrey has been in the news a lot this year because she opened a school in Africa in the town of Henly-on-Klip, about 40 miles outside Johannesburg. It is for young 12- to 13-year old girls.  The school is called the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. I think it is a splendid idea. Some folks don’t.

The critics, including many in the town where the school is located and many in Africa have been criticising Winfrey for various and sundry reasons. She has spent over $40 million dollars (her own money!) on this project and will probably spend millions more. I say, “Go girl!”  I’ve read a lot of the criticism and for the life of me I don’t get it. People saying she should spend the money on this or that or why not just give the money to ALL children in Africa. Or why even spend money outside the USA - there are plenty of young girls in Winfrey’s home town of Chicago that could use the money. My response to all of these critics … “Raise a few million dollars of your own and go spend it on whatever you wish. This is what Oprah is doing and I say more power to her! Mind your own damn business!”

More than 3,500 girls applied for 152 spots - that’s a 4 percent acceptance rate. (Harvard accepts about 9 percent.) People say that Oprah is not helping enough young girls at one time. Hogwash!

There is one thing these critics are overlooking. One word in the name of her school … LEADERSHIP. Opray gets it. She knows that this is a long, long trip she is on and that she won’t see the end - if there is even an end (and I hope there is not). Who knows what these young girls (who will go through this Academy) will end up doing. What dynamic impact this experience will have on their lives. Winfrey is setting in motion a Law of Attraction action that could change Africa forever … and changing Africa would have a huge impact on the whole world. I’m not an organized religion participant or a very religious person - spiritual, yes. But these critics of Winfrey need to think about the changes Jesus made with only 12 disciples.

I bet people told him he should spend his time and money on some other worthy projects versus trying to teach 12 guys the gospel. Spreading good through the Law of Attraction is a lot like the magic of compound interest. Once the foundation is laid, the ROI grows exponentially and fast.

Best wishes Oprah. I like your style!

Heart Mind, Brain Mind … Mind Matters

February 1, 2007 at 12:26 am (Alpha Brainwave State, Beta Brainwave State, Brain Mind, Curious, From the Heart, Heart Mind, Home Schooling, Law of Attraction, Life Force, Master Mind Group, Meaningful Life, Mind Matters, Positive mental attitude, Steven Snyder, Teaching Children, conscious mind, genuinely interested, subconscious mind, understanding of the mind)

I had the extreme pleasure recently to listen to one of the most dynamic and intelligent and informative speakers I have ever witnessed. His name is Steve Snyder. He doesn’t speak very often any more. He is well off and his wife is well off. They are building a new home in Hawaii. But he is still pursuing his passion and that is to change the education system in America as we know it. Steve is passionate about this project. He has devoted his entire life to it. But this post is not about his project - at least, not directly. But by way of the Law of Attraction, it is … in a way.

Steve believes that Traditional learning systems are decades behind the times. They were designed for an Industrial Age society, to service the needs of an assembly line based technology. We take all of the children of the same age and we put them in the same room, teach them how to do the same things, in the same way, at the same time. This makes them all as identical as possible. Training has been more important than teaching individuality, in a system that was successfully designed to produce assembly line factory workers. However to meet the changing needs of the Information Age, we must shift from teaching conformity to educating individual creativity. Everyone can be assisted in becoming accelerated learners. Learning to focus concentration, reduce stress and tension, access greater creative intelligence, and enhance reading, and memory skills, makes anyone more effective and productive.

I have no desire to preach to you about Steve Snyder … although I could for hours. He is very impressive … especially in person. I feel lucky to have heard his presentation for 4 hours - could have listened for day … he is this good.

I do want you to visit his site and read everything on it. Steve has spent his entire life reading and studying how our brains operate. This fellow is a speed reader. He knows what he speaks on.

For starters … go to his website at http://www.stevensnyderseminars.com/ and then follow the link to “Seminar Notes.” Take some time … some quiet time … and just read these notes. I believe you will be hooked.

I do not work for Steve Snyder. But his teaching on Mind Matters is SO closely connected to the Law of Attraction, I just had to share.

Hey, let me know what you think after you visit. I encourage you to come back and make a comment.

Thanks and have a great day!

Getting People to Say “Yes”

January 21, 2007 at 9:22 pm (Building Customer Relationships, Business Greeting Cards, Cooperation, Customer Loyalty, Dale Carnegie, Definiteness of Purpose, Employee Recognition, Encourage positive actions, Friendships, From the Heart, Greeting cards, Home Schooling, How to win friends and influence people, Inspiration, Involvement & Customer Loyalty, Kindness, Law of Attraction, Making a difference, Pay it forward, Positive mental attitude, Saying Yes, Send Out Cards, Socrates, Socratic mehtod, Teaching Children, Unexpected acts of kindness, affirmative direction, genuinely interested, habits of effective people, winning admission)

One of the principles in Dale Carnegie’s famous book How to Win Friends and Influence People is:

Get the other person saying “yes, yes” immediately

There are many reasons why you would rather have people say “yes” rather than “no.” It just makes your life easier, for one. Whether you are a salesperson trying to get an order or a consumer cutting a deal for a new car. Relationships just work better when the people involved are usually saying “yes.”

When one has said “no,” all your pride and personality demands that you remain consistent with yourself. Once having said “no”, you feel you must stick to it. Therefore, it is of great importance that a person be started in the affirmative direction. This is why a skilled speaker will get his/her audience, from the outset, to think or give a number of “Yes” responses. It sets the psychological process of the listeners moving in the affirmative direction.

Socrates was one of the greatest philosophers the world has ever known. He did something that only a handful of men in all history have been able to do: he sharply changed the whole course of human thought; and now, twenty-four centuries after his death, he is honored as one of the wisest persuaders who ever influenced this world.

His method? His whole technique, now called the “Socratic mehtod,” was based upon getting a “yes, yes” response. He asked questions with which his opponent would have to agree. He kept on winning admission after another until he had an armful of yeses. He kept on asking questions until finally, almost without realizing it, his opponents found themselves embracing a conclusion they would have bitterly denied a few minutes earlier.

The next time we are tempted to tell someone they are wrong, let’s remember old Socrates and ask a gentle question - a question that will get a “yes, yes” response.

The Law of Atraction is much more powerful when the people around you are saying “yes.”

Are you ready to learn how to make the Law of Attraction more powerful through sending greeting cards?

Have a great week!
